Tho Thi Le Hoang, Bookkeeper

Organizing numbers has always been a passion of mine. As a child I loved keeping records of baseball statistics. This love led me to graduate school to pursue a degree in Accounting. I worked for several years bookkeeping for a small startup and then started my own building supply company. It succeeded mostly because I knew accounting.

Over the years I went back to school and got an M.B.A. in small business management and entrepreneurship. Still hungry to learn more I earned a Ph.D. in psychology with a concentration in life-coaching. All of this education has helped me lead an exciting and useful life.

I retired at 50 and then traveled the world. Spent years teaching English in Vietnam. In 2019 my daughter asked me to come out of retirement to be her bookkeeper and advise her in her business. I forgot how much I love bookkeeping and supporting other entrepreneurs. So, here we are, you pay for the bookkeeping, the advise and coaching are my paying it forward to those who want to make the world a better place.

I loved having my own business. It was not easy selling souvenirs to Russian and Chinese tourists on the streets of Vietnam, but it was interesting and very profitable. It was also where I had my first experience doing the books. The government regulations are not like they are in America and mostly the records were for my own use.

I learned American bookkeeping and Quick Books when I came to America. At first it was difficult mostly because of language and learning new vocabulary but once I understood the way debits and credits worked everything became clear. And with cloud accounting and easy to use applications life became easy for me.
